Caprice Restaurant achieves gourmet award

The Londa Hotel has this week added more accolades to its list of plaudits.

This contemporary beach side boutique hotel located in Limassol has been awarded “Excellence” and “Two Chefs” for its Caprice restaurant. The awards, created by Mr Patrick Skinner and published in his new magazine Cyprus Gourmet as well as the Financial Mirror are the first of its type in Cyprus and are designed to recognise the increasing quality of chefs and their cuisine on the island.

Mr Skinner explains,” This is the first year of Cyprus-wide awards scheme, where we evaluate all the best restaurants and hotels on the island. The awards are permanent and will not be revoked until the chef changes or standards decline. The Londa is quite unique which is reflected in its restaurant Caprice. We found that the overall quality is really very good and the cuisine provided for its functions is exemplary.”

General Manager of the Londa Jochen Niemann comments, “It is very gratifying for our chef Patric Steklmacher and his team to be given this award. Patric has a passion for food that has found fans both in our international guests and visitors from across Cyprus. We set high standards with everything made in the Londa kitchens from scratch. Originally from Sweden, you can see Patric’s travels in his cuisine where he uses the best local ingredients from Cyprus combined with influences from the world over; including cloudberries from his native Sweden, Asian spices, Italian pasta. We call it Mediterranean cooking with a twist.”

The Caprice restaurant and lounge bar have become the place to see and be seen by the smart social set in Cyprus. Whether you choose afternoon tea on the terrace or late night lounge tunes from a regular DJ, the Londa adapts its ambience to suit.

The interior design of the Londa is a contemporary classic. The highly unique style created by a design team from Milan shows influences from the heritage of the island and from the Mediterranean including Cypriot lace, antique filigree silver and wood. White marble on the ground floor accentuates the view out to the sea through a wall of glass which the Londa is famous for. Furnishings follow neutral shades and clean lines, while bedrooms are given vibrant accents of colour and texture.

With just 68 rooms and suites spread across seven floors, the atmosphere at the Londa is intimate and welcoming. All rooms have five star facilities including Nespresso coffee machines, luxury Molton Brown cosmetics, high speed internet access, wi-fi, and cordless phone.
