LONDA HOTEL JAZZ SERIES CONTINUES WITH Angela Avetisyan and Leonid Nesterov TRIO
The 2015 Jazz autumn series continues at the Londa Beach Hotel in Limassol with the German-based trumpet player, Angela Avetisyan and the acclaimed Leonid Nesterov Trio. Having enticed full houses to the award-winning Caprice restaurant throughout last year, the renowned Londa Jazz series and the contemporary ambience of Londa’s chic boutique styling, still entice local and international jazz aficionados.
Angela Avetisyan, who hails from Armenia, received her musical training in Russia from one of the most distinguished trumpet players in the country – Sergey Pron. Angela graduated from the International Music College Freiburg, where she studied under the direction of the excellent and experienced American trumpet player, Gary Barone. In 2013 she moved to Munich to continue her music studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts. Angela’s music is airy and light, warm and gentle, but at the same time vibrant. Her melodic compositions as well as her interpretations of jazz standards and pop hits go straight to the heart of a listener. Angela plays at club gigs and big jazz festivals throughout Europe and Russia with her current bands “AngelaAvetisyan 4tet”, “Jazzrausch Bigband” and also as a session musician.
Leonid Nesterov found his musical calling in Latvia and moved to Limassol in 2010 to continue his career; he plays with many talented musicians around Cyprus, sharing his passion for Jazz and also performs with various musicians from the Baltic States, Germany, United Kingdom, Russia and Israel.
Nicolas Tryphonos was born in Limassol and studied electric bass at Nakas Conservatory in Athens, at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and the Conservatory of Utrecht where he graduated in Jazz double bass; Tryphonos is an active musician in Cyprus’ flourishing music scene and often travels to The Netherlands to play.
Andreas Stephanou is one of Cyprus’ most recognized musical talents of a new generation of Jazz musicians, and travels extensively to perform with celebrated artists including Nelson Faria, Kiko Freitas and Anna Ellis de Jong. He graduated from Rotterdam Conservatory.
The musicians will perform in the ambient Caprice restaurant on November 29th, with a delightful sea view and a 5-star service; the ideal environment for easy melodies and vibrant Jazz sounds.
Jochen Niemann, General Manager of the Londa commented “We’re looking forward to
