JAZZ SCENE SET AT LONDA HOTEL LIMASSOL FOR A CONCERT OF COLLABORATION ON SUNDAY 28 SEPTEMBER
ENJOY AN INCREDIBLE UNIQUE MUSICIAN COLLABORATION AT LONDA HOTEL’S CAPRICE RESTAURANT: The smooth sound of Jazz continues to entice guests to Londa’s award-winning Caprice Restaurant in Limassol, as the boutique hotel welcomes Kęstutis Vaiginis, one of the best Eastern European Saxophone players with special guest, bass guitar virtuoso Domas Aleksa accompanied by Cyprus Jazz Musicians Leonid Nesterov and Andreas Stephanou. They will be performing a heady mix of jazz styles, from swing to modern jazz.
Kęstutis Vaiginis is a talented young saxophonist of great acclaim both in his home country of Lithuania and on the international Jazz scene. He stands out for his clear and controlled sound, lyricism and passion. Kęstutis built up his status in Lithuania jazz by performing with the musicians of his generation and with more experienced ones from Lithuania and abroad. He is a winner of various national and international competitions.
In 2010, Kęstutis was awarded the Gran Prix of the Birštonas Jazz Festival for his significant contribution to Lithuanian jazz. In 2013, he was awarded by President Joachim Gauck, the Europamusicale Music Prize. Kęstutis graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and honed his skills in Prince Claus Conservatorium, Amsterdam School of Arts (the Netherlands) and Manhattan School of Music (New York).
Domas Aleksa is one of the best bassists in Lithuania and across the Baltic States. He has performed with the Otis Tailor Band, Philip Hamilton, T.L. Carrington, Nabil Khemir and many others. Now he is recording his 2nd solo album entitled ‘Basic Language’. Over the past few years Domas has played in various countries such as Canada, United Kingdom, Slovakia, Romania, Russia, and at the Japan Jazz festivals.
Leonid Nesterov began his music career in Latvia and has lived in Limassol since 2010; he plays with different musicians around Cyprus, sharing his passion for jazz even further by collaborating with various musicians from Baltic States, Cyprus, Russia and Israel.
Andreas Stephanou has the eminent status of being one of the best drummers in Cyprus. From the tender age of 9 he started playing percussion and was soon performing with various musical groups in band competitions, concerts and recordings. After his service in the military philharmonic orchestra, Andreas continued studying percussion with George Koulas and in 2007 was accepted at the Rotterdam Conservatoire in Holland in the direction of Latin Jazz. Parallel to his studies Andreas presented and took part in various projects like The Hague Festival Latin Fanatics with musicians from all over the globe, with Nelson Faria, Anna Ellis de Jong amongst others. As of June 2011 he lives and employs himself musically in Limassol playing at musical venues all over the island.
The Caprice’s cool Italian styled interior, flanked by the tranquil blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea, is the perfect backdrop for the easy melodies of vibrant jazz sounds brilliantly performed by gifted musicians.

The concert will start at 17:00 hrs in Londa’s Caprice Restaurant on Sunday 28th September.
