PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE DISTRIBUTION
14 October 2013

Londa’s successful ‘JazzyBrunch’ series continues with the Autumn groove in full swing; on Sunday 10 November, enjoy ‘the Leonid Nesterov trio’ featuring trumpeter Michalis Michael as more smooth sounds of Jazz accompany the fine food and stunning views of Londa’s Caprice restaurant.

Popular and accomplished jazz trio, Leonid Nesterov on piano, Andreas Stefanou on drums and Nicolas Tryphonos on bass, will be accompanied by Michalis Michael on trumpet. The quartet will delight diners as they enjoy a chill-out Sunday lunch buffet in the Caprice Restaurant’s cool Italian styled interior on Sunday, 10th November starting at 1pm.

The ensemble jazz musicians are well respected virtuoso instrumentalists in their own right. Nesterov began his music career at the tender age of 8 in his home town of Indra, Latvia and regularly performs on the European jazz circuit; Andreas Stefanou, graduate of Rotterdam Conservatory, is one of Cyprus’ most renowned home grown musical talents; one of a new generation of jazz musicians who has travelled Europe extensively, performing with celebrated stars including Nelson Faria, Kiko Freitas and Anna Ellis de Jong. Nicolas Tryphonos was born in Limassol and studied electric bass at Nakas Conservatory in Athens, at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and of Utrecht where he graduated in Jazz double bass; he is an active musician on the Cyprus and Netherlands music scene. Seasoned guest trumpeter Michalis Michael is a renowned performer whose fine musicianship has seen him accompany Jose Carreras, Placido Domingo and George Dalaras among others. He began playing trumpet in 1979 under Vesa Ania, Esko Lopponen and Kalman Kovacs. He is both a soloist and active member of the Cyprus Jazz scene and Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, with numerous TV and film credits to his name. All four performers will bring their unique talent to the Londa for a fine afternoon of classic and contemporary jazz sounds.

General Manager of the Londa Hotel, Jochen Niemann, said “The Londa’s Caprice restaurant is a delightful setting to enjoy live music. With the combination of our delicious lunch buffet and the smooth jazz quartet, Londa’s Caprice is going to be impossible to resist”.
